What Faith Can Do

Such an encouraging song!
Thursday, August 4, 2011
Every time I see couples holding hands or just plainly sitting next to each other, I look away. It is not that I hate lovers, but because it reminds me of a question nobody can answer..when will I see mine again?

Astro Scholarship Assessment

Tuesday, May 3, 2011
I went to the Astro Scholarship Assessment Day this morning. Woke up babi early to prepare myself physically and emotionally. I lost count of how many interviews I have been to previously but one thing for sure, every single one gave me butterflies in my stomach. But it was a lovely morning, woke up by a message from love wishing me good luck (thanks baby!). After that, I somehow had an instinct that I would have an awesome day. However it was raining cats and dogs on my way there. Sg Besi highway after the toll was a bitch as usual. Cars queuing from bumper to bumper, some idiot tried to jump queue and endless of horning. The interview was conducted at Astro Capability Centre in Technology Park Malaysia. Reaching the place was not a big deal but getting into the center itself was troublesome. Dad and I end up stopping twice to asked the security guards for direction. Who knows the whole TPM was so huge? I reached there 5 minutes late but luckily I were just on time for the ice breaking session. As usual the activity lasted for roughly 15 minutes with everyone stood up to introduce themselves and picked something that we like about Astro. I talked about how awesome Astro decided to launched the AFC channel as I'm a food lover. Many of them came up with creative answers and the tense atmosphere in the room relaxed a little. Over the morning tea break, I had the chance to get to know more about other people. Most of them are doing their A Levels and a couple of them are SPM leavers. Speaking of old age... >.< Regardlessly, everyone got along quite well. I've made a number of new friends like Hoe yen, Sue Ann, YY (I forgot her full name sorry) Lily Koh, Xia Shien, and Wen Han to name a few.

The real fun came after the short break. As we had been divided into 3 groups earlier, our 1st task was  to solve a situation given.  All the groups got the same questions. We were told to imagine ourselves crash landed in a desert with the pilot and co pilot dead. But the rest of us were uninjured (not making sense isn't it?) The pilot failed to inform anyone out there on our position so we're literally stranded in the desert in middle of no where in America (sounds cliche?)  So here comes the question. We were given a list of 15 items and we were suppose to list it in order starting from the most important to the least important item. It might sound easy in the 1st place but it really test our critical thinking and survival knowledge. I should have paid more attention when I watched Man VS. Wild last time. We were given 40 minutes to complete this task with the first 15 minutes we did it individually. Later, we were require to compare and discuss our respective answer and came up with a list that everyone one agree with. My group members were very participating. Each of us trying to sell our points and to convince each other on which is more important. After countless debates whether sunglasses, vodka or a book titled "Edible animals on desert" was more important, we manage to complete the list on time. Then, Mr. Viknesh (I think that's his name) a facilitator read out the list from an expert point of view. All though some of our numberings were way out but we did manage to hit a few correctly. Seriously, who can guess the most important thing to carry when you're stuck in a 50 degrees desert is a cosmetic mirror and not water. And a map is literally useless unless you want to use it as tissue paper or as source of entertainment when you're bored of waiting someone to come rescue you wtf. I was proud of my group members as I think we had really done a great job and we achieve the best score among the 3. Good job guys!

After lunch, it was time for individual interview. Mine was conducted late in the afternoon, about 3.15 pm so I got 2 hours plus to hang out, chatted with the rest, played hangman and a true/false game. I did found out that I would be meeting a few of them again this Friday for Axiata interview. My interview was a typical one, a panel of 2 interviewers were asking me about myself, my family, the course I chose to study, what can I contribute back to Astro, strengh and weakness. It was less tension compared to what I have been through previously. Miss Bernie, one them, is from Kajang as well. I think I did fairly well in this round. Hopefully, I will get into the final round of interview which I guess will be with the senior management team. I considered myself quite lucky as they told that we were the top 80 out of 2000 applicants which made up to almost 4% only? And from this, they will further select another 15-20 candidates for the final round. I'll keep my finger crossed and pray hard to be chosen.

Dad picked me up and we went to the post office in Sri Petaling Carrefour for me to send a document to LSE. Another 80 bucks gone just to mail that one piece of paper. Overall, today was a fantastic day and I'm glad to be able to meet a whole fun bunch of new friends. Back to work tomorrow and hopefully my whole week will be as great as today. Going for a hot bath now.Nitez peeps! Have a nice week =)

P/S: I joined this LSE Freshers 2011-2012 page and guess what, to my surprise there are going to be a lot of Malaysians going to LSE for this coming intake and even better, quite a number of them are going to be my course mates. The student counsel will be organising a freshers camp in 1st week of September somewhere in KL. Will update you on that next time=)

For Good Times and Bad Times, We Will Stand Together As A Family..

Saturday, April 16, 2011
Dad looked so cheerful!
Today, we went out for a dinner in Puchong to celebrate my dad's birthday. Our initial plan was to try out The Lookout Point in Ampang. However, dad's sudden craving of crabs came and we decided to go makan seafood .We went back to the same old restaurant (again..) that we always patronize in Puchong. The meal was delicious except that the amount of crabs was not enough. It's because according to the waitress, one table can order maximum of 1 kg only due the the shortage of crab supply wtf. So, ended up each of us ate a few small (super tiny) pieces only. To make up for the not so laden dinner, we found a dessert shop nearby. The "tong sui" were delectable, the glutinous rice balls were heavenly tasty filled with 2 different fillings (black sesame and peanut). Just now, we had a cutting cake session with my sister through Skype. Maybe, to certain people, you feel that it's weird doing it over a Skype conversation but to us, nothing more important than family moments. Let the pictures  tell you the story...

Mom and bro =)
Some of the food, there's more food actually but my fingers were too occupied peeling the crabs..
Bro having his fun time eating the crab
The restaurant on the opposite side, funny name huh?
Imagine I say " I like to eat at 'Like To Eat' Restaurant"..?
Red bean soup with sweet rice ball
My sis looked so funny here

Epic moment!
I heart this picture the most
Going to PC Fair tomorrow! I sound so pathetically over excited now. It will be my first visit to a PC fair. Will give an update on it soon. Till then, take care peeps. Nitez nitez world (^_^)

You da' man!

Friday, April 15, 2011
My super dad turned 51 today!
Dad, I cherish your birthday because when you were born, I got a role model to show me how a person should be. Every year, your birthday reminds me how grateful I am that you are my father. With all that’s going on in the world today, I’m thankful I get to watch you, to look up to you, being an example of a good man. What a privilege it is to observe your strength, your competence, and your kindness. I am so blessed to be under your wing, your protection, your care, learning important life lessons from you. You stand out and shine above the rest. If all fathers were like you, the world would be a very different and much better place. It would look like God's own design. How lucky I am to have a dad whom I love with all my heart so I pray that on your very special day brings pleasure right from the start.

I miss those times when I was little, my dad holding my hands..
Happy Birthday, daddy!
May God bless you forever

From your admiring daughter,
yin

P/S: Check this out. LOL!

Get it? If not, please get somebody to decipher it for you.

It makes you hungry right?
Had time to update my blog at last. Last few days were so hectic, don't even have enough proper sleep. Today was a bliss! Slept in till 12 pm, went out for a short shopping trip and had a lovely western dinner =) Ahhh, such a relaxing day. The dinner was scrumptious, we had chicken chop and fish. The raw ingredients were a gift from my mom's friend. She bought it from a supplier who actually supplied to 21st Century Cafe in Bukit Mewah. So literally the food taste exactly same like the ones we have at the cafe, instead of beautiful scenery of Kajang we had a 12'' TV accompanying us. We even had side dishes like cabbage salad and mashed potatoes courtesy from my brother. Such satisfying and delicious meal without paying sky high price! Of course, we need to clean up the kitchen after that, oh well, can't complain bout that right?

Mom, dad and the food

Next week would be my dad's birthday. Still haven't thought which place to go for celebration. Anyone, if got any great ideas please do let me know kay. Wanna have a memorable one this year. Somehow, for the last few days, I felt a little heavy hearted as I realized for the next coming few years I wouldn't be able to celebrate mom's, dad's, bro's and my birthday together. I wonder if this how jie felt when she first when to Russia. We never missed one birthday before as a family. There's  5 months left before I'll be in a totally new place with unfamiliar faces around me. I'm not sure whether I'm ready to face it or not. Sometimes, even the thought of it sent chills down my spine. Trying to push the thought back of my mind for now.

I had 7 tuition classes for the last two days, totally worn out and exhausted. Starting from this month, I'll have 3 more classes extra including one private tuition. Now I understand the meaning of how hard to earn money. But looking at the amount in my bank account somehow gives me an encouragement to continue. I've already made a list of what I want to purchase once I earn enough. This is my first working experience, not to say very pleasant but worthwhile. At least, my resume now looks better with working experience.

Dad asked my help to make a banner to rent out the dance studio in Kajang Prima. This task itself occupied most of my time for the last few days.I hope it's big and striking enough to attract tenants. My next project is to help my dad to create a new letter head to his newly set up company. It's really testing my computer skills. Google is my new best friend these days, anything I'm not sure just Google it. Haha!

Look at the mess in my room
The final outcome, what do you think?
I'll stop here for today. Till next time, take care peeps! XOXO

Busy week, yet rewarding =)

Monday, March 21, 2011
Hi people! I'm back. The previous few days were quite happening. Last Friday, I went to Piramid to meet up Wei Qi. We planned this for quite sometime. Almost tak jadi cause my dad last minute said he can't fetch me to Sunway as he took a leave to settle some stuffs in Kajang. End up I took a train there. The journey was quite relaxing, maybe because it was not during peak hour. It took me about 2 hours to reach there. At the same time, went back to take my A Level official certificate. Had our lunch at Jusco food court. Was craving for sushi at that time. LOL! Wei Qi went back for his class till 3.15 pm. Mean while I had a great time shopping around and managed to grab a pair of jeans and 2 long sleeves shirts. The euphoric feeling when I came out with 2 shopping bags was totally fantabulous! Later, he picked me up and went to Snow Flakes in SS15. My craving for desserts will not stop. Snow Flakes totally rocks! Wei Qi dropped me at Kelana LRT station and the journey back to Kajang was horrendous. I was literally molested by at least 10 people from my head, my boobs to my butt. Luckily, all were women. If there's one thing Malaysia needs to improve, transportation would totally be the NO. 1. The whole outing was almost perfect excluding the journey back. Hope to have another one soon =)

Icy Toro Series
Shy?...yeah right
My all time favorite Tako Tao
The shirt and jeans I bought.
The hustle in KL Central in the evening
Come to last Saturday, I went to British Council Education Fair in KLCC. Got to meet some representatives from City, Southampton and Warwick Universities. As usual, we enquired about the fees and accommodations. At 3.30 pm, we attended an Actuarial Talk by a professor from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. It was quite informative and interesting and somehow membara my semangat to study it. So coincidence Teik Sheng was there as well. Looks like I have another friend who is interested in this field. Yay!

The package that I was anticipating arrived today. Yoohoo! It was my official offer letter from LSE and my undergraduate offer pack. Inside, contained all the informations regarding the application of my accommodation, visa, admission process and my term dates. Been busy reading it since this afternoon. Hopefully everything will goes well according to my plan. Bless me!

They changed my name to Wen Chen LOL
I worked so hard just for this=)

Hoop Horror

Thursday, March 17, 2011
Today, I woke up feeling like someone punched me in the abdomen and hips. The feelling of pain and numbness was all over my body. My 1st thought was "great, Freddy did exist and tortured me in my dream yesterday''. To my horror, when I went to the bathroom to check my reflection, this was what I saw.

OH MY "( insert your own variation)"!
My version was a bit offending to certain party.
Correction. This was only ONE of them. Yes, there were a big more equally gross ugly bruise around my hips, waist and knees. Then it came back to me. Yesterday evening, I was practicing the thick rattan hula hoop. It was huge and extremely heavy. Thought of giving it a try since I never touch it before after 2 years hibernating in my house. I guessed it hit too hard on my bones or my technique is inaccurate. Yesterday, there were only red patches. Never came to my mind that they will turn into these ugly patches. Urghhh! When I showed mum, she gave a loud shriek. Wonder how long will it take for them to completely disappear?? No wearing shorts for a few weeks. From now on, I will stick to the cross trainer.

Sinfully Delicious!

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Check out what me and bro had for lunch today. Tadaaa! We ordered Domino's Pizza thsi afternoon. OMG Tune Tempation was truly irresistible! The cheese literally melted in your mouth at once, not to forget the chukiness of tuna pieces. Chicken pepperoni too sent me up to heaven. Oh man, Domino's is definitely tersangat awesome. Even the thought of it unconciously makes me drooling~~Watched Mythbusters after filling up the stomach. Today's experiment was totally remarkable. It was to test whether a faulty water heater like those normally found in coutries that experience winter will succumb under extremely high temperature and pressure and fly up in the air like a rocket. I was stunned by the result of it. Check this video out and you'll know exactly what I meant. And if you have installed a water heater in your house, take precautions and make sure it is properly maintained at all time. This may happen to you anytime. Have fun watching it! Totally heart Mythbusters =) We want more! more! more! I think they are the only creatures who enjoy building a house from scratch and have a fun time blowing it up later. Sacrifice in the name of science? LOL Too much adrenaline rush is not a good thing either, it makes you die faster.

The whole cabin was blown to almost absolutely nothing (>o<)
Mouthwatering Tuna Temptation
Scrumptious Chicken Pepperoni
I know I've sucessfully made you hungry. Don't hate me ^^

Love my laptop backgroound =)
Yesterday, I suddenly felt so motivated to clean up my room even managed to wipe off every speckle of dust from all conner of the room. I felt so satisfied after finished. Worth all my sweat and tiredness =) Hope this condition can last long enough LOL Today is a relaxing day. Re watched Angels and Demons just now, after this would be Nightmare at the Elm Street. It was supposed to be yesterday night's plan but 5 mins into watching it, I felt creepy so stopped it. Haha! Mom's playing mahjong downstairs with her friends. Wish Glynn is back from Johor, then I can ajak her out. Meanwhile, all I can do is to enjoy my break at home before starting to work again. My EduYoung employer decides to let me take over another 2 classes, which total up my classes to 5. Hopefully there will be more coming =)

Decided to move my laptop back in the room instead of the living room
Rearranged my shelve, love it?

Lovely Sunday~~~

This morning, I woke up with a super headache as if someone was hitting my head repeatedly with a hammer. Luckily it went off after a while. Surprisingly, I was able to wake up at 10 am even though I slept at 2 yesterday night. Have a lot of thinking before I slept yesterday, mainly on my uni stuffs. Just now, my relatives came to visit us. I had a good chat with my cousin brother and sister. Somehow, these days, I begin to appreciate my cousins more, there's a lot more topic to be discussed compared to previous years. He told me his college life in Brickfields Asia College. He's taking A levels and going to further his studies in law next year. As we talked, I keep thinking back of my moments in Sunway. No doubt that I miss those days where I got to hang out with my friends in Piramid, attended classes together, laughed at almost every stupid things, hanged out at William's, lepaked at Rock Cafe, shopping spree with the girls and most important, was to have him with me through out college. If I'm given a chance to go back to those days, I would complain less about classes, how "boring"  Piramid was and if I know I would miss the Chee Cheong Fun aunty so much, I would eat it more before college end. Funny enough, we always miss something after we loose it. Anyway, back to the conversation. So we talked much, mostly on his studies and my work. He said that he'll inform me if he hears bout any vacancies=)

I find this ad hilarious, at the same time
it does represent a certain degree of truth.
Dad told us that next Saturday we'll be heading to Ipoh to attend his friend's daughter wedding. Whats more surprising is that the girl is only 22 this year. I knew her when I was a kid as we went to a vacation together. Lately, I've heard many young couples are getting married. Is it some kind of new trend that I've failed to notice? Seriously? For me, to marry at the age below 25 seems too early. There are so much more in life which are waiting for us to discover and enjoy. Rushing into a marriage kills all these freedom. However, on the bright side this occasion gives me a reason to buy a new dress so I'm happy! LOL

Got to go off now. Planning to take a nap, later at night might be going pasar malam. Ciao~~

Adventure is worthwhile

Saturday, March 12, 2011
Sometimes, if we wish hard enough, dreams will come true.
Today, I went to World Class Study/ London Exhibition in Mandarin Oriental Hotel to meet the representatives from LSE. Gosh! I was so excited! I still remember the 1st time I went to the same event last year, at the exact same venue. The only difference was this time I am officially an offer holder to enter the university. Half way there, Charis Lau called me and said that she was too in KLCC and  attended the reception as well. I had anticipated this for a quite some time. I had made a list of what to ask the representatives about LSE. Once arrived at Ballroom 2, Charis called me so loud that almost everyone in the room turned to look at me. Geee! She still as hippie as usual. She introduced me to the women from LSE which she had a chat a while before I came. Apparently, she even had talked to the women about me before I came.Somehow I felt proud when some of the parents there congratulated me on getting an offer from LSE. Then, dad proceeded with all the questions he had been pondering all this while like the fees structure, accommodation, the course structures, study environment and etc. Lucky for us the woman that entertained us previously too studied Actuarial Science. She gave me a lot of advice on how to cope with the new environment and apply for internship there. Then, her colleague joined our conversation and further assuring me that studying in LSE will be one of the best moment in my entire life. I felt so motivated after the conversation.I know that deep in my heart, LSE is where I want to be for the next few years. After that, mom and dad had a little chat with Charis's parents outside where they served refreshments. Meanwhile, I too catch up with Charis on what's she's doing now. She's still waiting reply from LSE to study law. I really wish she will join me in London. I think it would be better to have a friend there for a fresh start. Hmmm, wonder which uni Yean Long decides to go?? If he's going Imperial and Charis is in London, we can meet up sometime. It would be awesome!

After that, we went to KLCC to kill time. Dad bought a few shirts and pants for his work. Mom went window shopping for bags. We saw a bag from Guess which is so amazingly pretty (Obviously, the price even prettier >.< ). Later, we had our dinner at the food court before heading back. Next week, I'll be attending UK Education Fair in KLCC to inquire about City University and Warwick. Asked Charis to join me but she'll be going to UK for  Durham University Open Day. After that, I will make my final decision on which Uni to choose as my 2nd choice. (LSE is definitely my 1st choice d ). He told me not to wait any longer as we need to start doing arrangement for accommodation, fees payment and visa. Oh man, even though I feel very happy that a decision has been made, at the same time, I'm worried as well. Am I choosing the correct path? It's not easy for my dad to support me for that few years in London. We had a rough calculation on the total cost which came up to nearly half a million. I'm praying everyday that God would grant me a scholarship. With one, all problem would be solved. Oh well, I still have chances, I'll just keep trying to the very end. *finger crossed*

I saw this rainbow on the way back. It reminds me of this quote
"The only way to see a rainbow is to look through the rain".
I will not give up before achieving my dream.

Project Aquarium 101

The shark looks dead LOL
I've been occupied with work this few weeks. One of the things that I'm really proud of is this creation of aquarium. It took me 3 days of  drawing, coloring, cutting and pasting to complete this mini aquarium. *Proud* It took a lot of patience and hard work to make it a success. It is now proudly displayed on the wall. The children were so thrilled to look at it. Hopefully it will last long enough before all the poking and shaking destroy it. These days, most of my time in Smart Reader was filled by creating stuffs like this. My next major project would be a mini zoo. My employer is so pleased to see the center being brighten up by all this crafts. Unfortunately, this would be the last month I will be working there as they have found another permanent teacher who will be taking over me soon. She came to work last week and seemed to be kind of slow to get used to the way my colleagues work. They were complaining about her to my employer. Oh well, I hope she'll manage it well as it is not as easy as it sounds to be a preschool teacher. Meanwhile, I going to start finding a new job soon. All came back to square one again, going from shop to shop showing them my resume and get kick out after telling them I'm going to further my studies in September. Wish me all me the best in my job hunting!

I took some pictures of my students yesterday. Here they are! Aren't they adorable? But don't get deceived by their innocent look, they are pretty much annoying most of the time.

Li Jing and Qistina
Dhiyaul
Xin Yin (She shares the same bday as me! )
Li Jing, Qistina & Damia
Faris and Muhammad. Faris turned 6 last week!
Nabihah (OMG She's the cutest among all)

I'll definitely miss them very much. Lots of love for them XOXOXO

Sick sick sick

Thursday, March 3, 2011
Last two weeks I've been coughing a lot. Then yesterday it take a toll on me. When I woke up, I felt my throat was burning like a BBQ pit. Somehow I manage to pulled myself to work but I barely can talk much. So after work, I went to see a doctor. I can barely talk at that time, so I just pointed my finger to my throat and made some funny sound to indicate my problem. He was laughing at me. =.= At night i was down with a fever. My temperature was soaring high. Didn't manage to go work this morning and the English classes were cancelled as well.  Oh well, I just can pray hard to recover as soon as possible. Life is boring at home.

I'm as sick as a baby. Gahhhhhhh!

I hope you're here to give me a hug..

This song always touches my heart..

And I love this english cover by Jason Chen & J Rice. *Hearts them*

Don't know how long
It's been a while since
You told me...your favorite story

It's been on my mind
Driving me crazy
Am I the reason that (you're crying now)

I see the tears in your eyes
They tell me you don't believe
That I can't be...your prince charming.

Maybe you can't understand
But when you (said you loved me)
My life was (changed
And I wish you could see)

I'm willing to
be the one
and the angel that you love
with open arms
I'll always be there

You must believe
That you and me
Will end up living happily
In our own fairytale story

New year, new acquaintance, new experience..

It's been so long since I updated my blog.I have decided to activate it again as I find that it's much better to have a place to spill out the emotions. I'm currently working as a Smart Reader teacher and a part time tuition teacher at EduYoung. It's a whole new experience for me to teach, especially dealing with kids. It's not as what I expected before I start. Dealing with kids, especially naughty ones are quite tough. However, you can't blame them as their mind is not yet taught to fully understand what is right and wrong. I found my 1st week working there is kind of chaotic. I consider myself quite lucky for not losing my voice by the end of the week. Teaching these kids reminds me of how naive I used to be once. They are so innocent, when you look into their eyes, it's like there's nothing in their mind but fun and excitement. I wish to see them grow and bloom to be a better person. Hopefully? I'm still trying to get used working with my fellow colleagues but things are getting better. In the beginning, I find that it's quite hard to communicate with them as all of them are married and their topic of conversation mainly on their family. I literally have nothing to talk about at all! I just cross my fingers and pray hard that the situation will improve soon. Anyway, I will not give up this opportunity easily and I believe it will be a wonderful journey at the end =)
